Short version: this website does not use cookies and does not track you. If you ask for a quote, we use your details to get back to you and do the job, and nothing else.
Who we are
Fused Electrical Services is the trading name of Logan Sol Pigram, a sole trader based in Colchester, Essex. For this website and for any enquiry or job, we are the data controller. You can contact us about anything in this notice at hello@fusedelectricalservices.com or on 07464 557735.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies or any similar technology, and it does not store anything on your device. There are no analytics, advertising or social media trackers. The fonts are served from this website itself. Because nothing is stored on your device, there is no cookie banner.
What we collect, and why
When you ask for a quote. The form asks for your name, phone number, the type of job and anything you choose to tell us about it. The same applies if you call, text, email or message us. We use these details to reply to you and to price the work. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
When we do a job for you. We keep your name, contact details, the address of the work, what was done, and the related quotes, invoices, certificates and test results. Our lawful bases are performing our contract with you and meeting our legal obligations, such as tax records and electrical safety certification.
When you visit the website. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. This is used only to keep the website secure and working. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
We do not sell your data, use it for marketing lists or make automated decisions about you.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a job: up to 12 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Records of jobs, quotes and invoices: for as long as UK tax rules require (currently up to six years).
- Electrical certificates and test results: for as long as safety regulations, our insurers or our registration body require, which can be longer than six years.
- Website logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period under its own retention policy.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make the website, the form and our paperwork work:
- GitHub, which hosts this website and sees the technical information described above.
- Web3Forms, the service that turns the quote form into an email to us.
- Our email provider (Krystal, in the UK), where enquiries arrive.
- Our accounting software provider, for quotes and invoices.
- WhatsApp, only if you choose to message us that way. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to those messages.
Where the work needs it, details of the job are also passed to the local authority’s building control or to our registration body, so that the work can be certified.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, object to how we use it, or transfer it to you or someone else. Email hello@fusedelectricalservices.com and we will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint (opens in new tab) or 0303 123 1113.
